Founded in 1928, Hilo Hongwanji Preschool has served generations of families in East Hawai‘i. Its award-winning early education program is known for nurturing future leaders — alumni have gone on to lead businesses, serve in government, and contribute to the community across the state.
Provided engineering services for the design-build of a new preschool classroom building and a multipurpose facility. The 5,130-square-foot classroom building includes four classrooms, restrooms, and play equipment storage. The 4,630-square-foot multipurpose building includes office space and a single-use restroom and may be attached or detached.
Site improvements included grading and drainage for a grass play area, perimeter fencing, sidewalks, ramps, stairs, and site retaining walls.
