Provided full-service engineering and design for the new FedEx sort facility totaling approximately 28,000 square feet of building area. The project included a van maintenance building, infrastructure for a modular office, and a canopy tent site, all situated on a 3.2-acre parcel.
Site work included grading and drainage, dual driveways, recessed truck dock, tug road to the main cargo facility, perimeter fencing, parking, and utility systems for domestic water, fire protection, and wastewater disposal. EPI designed the roadway extension of Mokuea Street and coordinated with Akahana Street access. Water system design included fire flow analysis, hydrant flow testing, and coordination with the County Department of Water Supply to ensure adequate fire protection. Wastewater disposal was addressed through sewer main connection or septic design, as applicable.
Topographic and boundary surveys supported subdivision and easement mapping. Design services covered all building utility systems including power distribution, lighting, HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, and fire alarm. EPI also provided construction documents for electrical demolition, energy code compliance, and utility coordination. The foundation systems were engineered for the sort facility, modular office, and maintenance building, including concrete slabs, structural framing, retaining walls, and loading dock levelers.
All design documents were prepared for County and State DOT-Airport review and approval.
